Coaching: Developing Employees' Potential

A manager’s most important contribution to an organization is the results they are able to produce through others.  A key component of their effectiveness is their employee coaching and development skills.

Coaching is the process of empowering your employees to become more productive, effective, and committed team members.

Managers need to understand a person’s strengths, so they can capitalize on them. They also need to understand employees’ weaknesses in relationship to carrying out their responsibilities to provide appropriate and effective coaching.  A manager’s goal is not to change personalities, but to help employees be more effective in areas where the required behaviors aren’t “natural” for them by providing activities, processes, and skills to fill the behavioral gap.

Concord’s focus is on first understanding an individual’s core motivation & natural abilities and then building on those to help organizations achieve their objectives.  With an accurate understanding of individual potential combined with a clear definition of objectives and responsibilities, coaching can help bridge the gap between how an individual is hard-wired and the behaviors which result in improved performance and greater productivity.

Areas in which individuals can often require coaching include: communication, leadership and sales.

Concord conducts a Coaching for Improved Performance workshop which provides participants skills required for individual coaching within organizations.
