Employee Engagement Surveys

Employee Engagement Surveys, and their variations, which are also described as Climate Surveys, Employee Opinion Surveys, Employee Satisfaction Surveys are information gathering processes to understand and evaluate employees’ perceptions and experience with key business and organizational issues.

Organizations make use of this important Survey process to identify employees' current engagement and satisfaction with: the direction of the organization/business; the leadership team’s impact on the organization; degree and quality of internal communications; working relationships with fellow team members; organizational culture and how it is experienced by employees; supervisor’s coaching and performance evaluation approaches; identifying specific issues hindering productivity; compensation and benefit feedback; and numerous other areas of organizational life.

Employee input to this Survey process is confidential, most often conducted and collected by a third party who summarizes and synthesizes the input to provide the business leaders with a strengths and weaknesses analysis, along with recommendations on initiatives to make internal improvements.

Twelve to eighteen months later the third party re-surveys the employees and summarizes the feedback to determine if the initiatives implemented to deal with the original Survey feedback have caused improvement, no change, or negative change.
