People are hooked by Competence – and believe its Confidence.
They can see a Candidate has seen it, done it, and built skills and experience necessary to do the job.
But that doesn’t automatically mean the Candidate will be confident on the job.
So, people shouldn’t be surprised if they hire the person who seems to have greater Competence, then find out they are overly reliant on the Manager.
That’s a lack of Confidence.
